The DA-4 gas booster is designed for 60,000 psi max service. 2 stages ensure maximum pumping efficiency at these high pressures. Delivery vs. Inlet pressures are shown below.
The low pressure (2,000 psi max) drive equipment consists of oil reservoir, electric motor and pump, pressure regulating valve, directional control valve, driving pressure indicating gauge, a differential filtering system and a hydraulic check valve.
The high pressure ends consist of two water jacketed piston-cylinder assemblies proportioned for 2 stage compression, optimizing the efficiency and minimizing the thermodynamic heat of compression. The first stage discharges slightly more gas than the second stage requires. An interstage cooler and receiver, check valves, necessary high pressure piping, and interstage and high pressure discharge instrumentation are supplied.
The DA-4 gas booster is designed for automatic operation. The high pressure instrumentation supplied with these systems allows the operator to begin pumping to a set pressure and hold as desired.
60,000 psi max working pressure
2 stages for increased pumping efficiency
Pumping speed control for ease of operation
Up to 10 horsepower hydraulic drives
Fully automated controls and instrumentation
Available for service with Hydrogen and other gases
Delivery rate of a gas booster system, such as the DA-4 60,000 psi model described above, depend directly to the amount of horsepower of the system and the inlet pressure. Harwood offers many other models similar to this system, with many pressure ratings and choices of horsepower available. The graph below indicated the efficiency based on these main parameters.
