BLOW OUT RUPTURE DISC ASSEMBLIES

These simple, pipe

exhaust blowout assemblies

are used for passing fluids through piping into a manifold of outdoors. They may be mounted anywhere in a high-pressure system to blow out when the pressure reaches a predetermined value. Blowout assemblies are furnished with the necessary gland nuts and sleeves of 416 stainless steel. The disc will be supplied to rupture at any desired pressure from 700 to 100,000 psi.

Several factors may affect the bursting pressure of any disc. Corrosion, elevated temperatures, and fatigue may weaken a disc and cause it to fail prematurely. Also, sudden shock pressure will rupture a disc below its rated pressure.

The discs are available in

stainless steel, nickel, or bronze

. The assemblies listed are supplied with couplings.

IMPORTANT WHEN ORDERING RUPTURE DISCS:
1. Discs must be ordered separately.
2. Be sure to specify the release pressure desired, allowing an overpressure of 25% or 50%.

NOTE: Standard discs may not be exposed to temperatures above 72° F for maximum burst rating; however, rupture discs may be prorated for service at elevated temperatures. Consult us for further details. The torque required to seal and hold the disc is approximately 250-ft-lb. A list of current rupture discs will be sent on request.
