About Newport Scientific

The SUPERPRESSURE Division and product line was founded in 1923 by American Instrument Company (AMINCO). Today, SUPERPRESSURE is a wholly owned division of NEWPORT SCIENTIFIC, INC. which maintains a manufacturing facility located in central Maryland.

Throughout the years, the SUPERPRESSURE name has become synonymous with high-pressure equipment expertise, matchless quality, and unsurpassed reliability. SUPERPRESSURE diaphragm gas compressors, as well as all SUPERPRESSURE products can be found in virtually any research lab, pilot plant installations, or full scale chemical manufacturing plants around the world. Indeed, wherever high-pressure processing is required in the world of modern technology, SUPERPRESSURE equipment has proven indispensable. Our equipment has also been used extensively in the U. S. Department of Defense Missile Programs; in ground support systems for all types of liquid fueled missiles and space vehicles of both an exploratory and tactical nature.

Most recently, a collaborative effort with NASA has produced the Oxygen Recharge Compressor Assembly (ORCA) for use on the International Space Station. This assembly transfers oxygen from the space shuttle orbiter to international space station oxygen storage tanks.

NEWPORT SCIENTIFIC, INC. also features a HYGRODYNAMICS Division which is a pioneer and leader in precision humidity sensors, instrumentation and controls.
