Newport Scientific, Inc.'s smoke density chamber systems were developed/pioneered with a team of engineers from our company, engineers from the National Bureau of Standards (NBS), now the National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST), and engineers from the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM).

Our smoke chamber system was the first commercial instrument to improve smoke density measurement via a self-integrating vertical optical system to address stratified-layer smoke build up.

Complete turnkey systems, including options for ASTM or FAA compliance

Included with our smoke chamber systems are: instrumentation for smoke density and temperature; microphotometer-based photometric system and light source; and smoke density, heat flux, and temperature data collection. Newport Scientific standard smoke density chambers meet requirements of: FAR25-853; ASTM E662; ASTM F814; NFPA 258; BS 6401: AITM 2-0007; EN 2824; and ATS 1000.

Available options enable our chambers to meet the requirements of: ISO 5659/IMO FTPC Part 2;ATS 1000.001/ABD 0031; and NES 711.
