SUPERPRESSURE SWIVEL JOINT

Swivel joints are designed for use in

shock-tube

installations and other high-pressure piping installations where the piping can be continuously rotated while under working pressures of 10,000 psi.
 Exhaustive tests using nitrogen gas and designed to determine dynamic and static pressure capabilities revealed that the swivel joint has a maximum working pressure of 10,000 psi. swivel joints with 30,000 psi capabilities are available on special order. All joints are capable of being swiveled approximately 200 times at their maximum pressure with no evidence of leakage or damage to the joint. Proof pressure is 20,000 psi. Burst pressure (using SAE 10W oil) is a minimum of 40,000 psi.
 Swivel joints can be pressure-pulsated from 0 to 10,000 psi, swiveled at 10,000 psi, then returned to 0 psi approximately 200 times with no evidence of leakage or damage to the joint.
 The joints are available with 1/4, 3/8, and 9/16 inch openings. Swivel joints with pressure capability up to 30,000 psi but not requiring rotation under pressure are available by special order.

SWIVEL JOINTS ARE FURNISHED WITH NECESSARY GLAND NUTS AND SLEEVES OF 416 STAINLESS STEEL.
